Sometimes.

Sometimes all you need is a full tank, a cold drink in the cup holder and your sunglasses to begin your adventure.
Sometimes  does not have to be spectacular, exoctic or amazing.
Sometimes the best places are the ones that touch our heart and not our wallet.
Sometimes all we need is the person we love next to us and a view that makes us sigh with contentment.

This weekend I went to one of those places.  It's just a little man made lake on the outskirts of Big Cabin, Oklahoma.  As a matter of fact it sits on the back of a truck stop the Wood Shed or the Tall Chief Smoke Shop just as you exit off the I-44 turnpike.

Here I watched the ripples of the lake as the fish and the turtles play and thought of the man I love that first brought me here.   Our long conversations as the sun went down over the horizon.  The orange, pink, golds and purples flickering across the water like an impressionist's painting.   The love I feel him seeped into the feelings for the lake and the surrounding areas.  When I miss him I go there.  When I need to write I go there.  When I need peace of mind I go there.

I hope you enjoy the pictures as much I enjoy the place.  If you ever get a chance to stop.  Go past the truck stop and into the gravel parking area and you'll see my favorite lake behind the sleeping semi trucks.
